ORTHOPEDIC SURGICAL PARTNERS PC is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Manchester, CT

Orthopedic Surgical Partners is a busy Orthopedic practice spanning 4 towns: Rocky Hill, Manchester, Avon, and Willimantic. We are currently hiring a full-time Medical Assistant. As part of the clinical team, you will work collaboratively with our physicians and physician assistants.

Responsibilities:
  • Patient in-take: rooming patients, collecting and entering medical history, medications and chief complaint into EHR.
  • Chart preparation: gathering prior medical records and reviewing office notes, radiology reports, health history and medications.
  • Preparing patient to be seen by the provider: setting up for procedures, undressing wounds
  • Fit patients with orthopedic braces and ensure proper documentation for billing.
  • May schedule surgeries and assure medical clearance, radiology images, and prior authorization have been attained prior to surgery date.
  • Managing physician referrals: sending health information and receiving/incorporating health information into patient medical records.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1- year clinical medical experience
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend at our walk-in centers
  • Medical terminology, medical insurance requirements (including workers’ compensation), communication skills and basic knowledge of computers required.
  • Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
